Building a Burger Empire

February 28, 2019

Not one, two, three, or four… but how about five locations under the umbrella of one brand? Less than four years after establishing as a one-stop location for a burger, an order of fries, and a milkshake, Coaches Burger Baris living that reality in 2019.

In 2015, owners Patrick and Stacy Howlett established the first Coaches location. In 2019, they will open their fifth in Lisbon.

Coaches Burgers to Expand at New Boardman Site

Business Journal

September 1, 2017

BOARDMAN, Ohio – The Boardman Coaches restaurant is moving up the street to 708 Boardman-Canfield Road from its site at 714 Boardman-Canfield Road, and with it is bringing a full-service restaurant and bar, as well as jobs.

“While the counter service worked great for us with the lunch and dinner crowd, we realized that we needed something in the middle,” co-owner Stacy Howlett said in a news release. “The new space gives us plenty of room to expand our seating area and allows us to switch our Boardman restaurant to a sit-down dining experience.”

The Boardman restaurant will feature a full bar, full service menu and enough seating for 100 guests. Like its Poland restaurant at 9065 Springfield Road, Coaches in Boardman will install televisions and Keno, and will subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket for the football season.

The Vindicator

February 10, 2016

The Champ declares Coaches a real contender, and we agree.

The Champ is Boxing Hall of Famer and Youngstown’s favorite son Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, and the contender is the burger at Coaches Burger Bar.

This month’s burger review selection came from the Champ himself. He eats there often, and we couldn’t resist an opportunity to sit down with Ray, talk boxing and Youngstown while enjoying a great burger.

Coaches is a sports bar for the entire family. There is local and national sports memorabilia adorning the walls, and when you walk in you first notice the wrap-around wooden bar with TVs positioned all around so you don’t miss any action from the big games.
